Located in central Italy, the school welcomes faculty, researchers and students selected internationally following the best graduate school standards worldwide.

Through day-to-day interactions, researchers and students have the opportunity to build a sound knowledge of research methods, share their interests, experiment with innovative approaches to cutting-edge problems, and engage in multi-cultural exchanges and other GSSI activities. Tasked with the objective of addressing the complexities of today’s world, GSSI is committed to scientific excellence, national and international collaborations, interdisciplinarity, innovation and dissemination of scientific results with an impact on society. The GSSI benefits from highly specialized structures available in L’Aquila, including the prominent Gran Sasso National Laboratories of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), and the University of L’Aquila.
